Here are your Manager Reality Index results.
Your good managers are good on their own. Nothing behind them makes the next one good.
Three moves to stop the patchwork.
1. List every leadership development thing currently running. Then retire most of it.
All of it. Trainings, book clubs, coaching, mentor programs, offsites. Most companies find 8–12 things. Pick the 3 that actually move the needle. Retire the rest. Less, better.
2. Define what "good" looks like for a new manager at 90 days. One page. Share it widely.
Nobody hits a target they can't see. Most companies skip this because it feels obvious. It isn't. Without it, every manager is grading themselves on a different rubric.
3. Find your highest-rated manager. Ask them to write down what they actually do.
One page. That's your bench-strength playbook draft. Now you have something concrete to teach from instead of guessing what "good" looks like.
None of this needs a program or a budget sign-off. Start with whichever one lands hardest — you can do it this week.
The Leadership Lab
Where leaders relearn how to lead like a human.
You told us this is about how you lead, not a program to roll out. That's exactly what the Lab is for. Your coach would start where you scored lowest — The Development Engine — and build from there. An expert coach reads your assessment and builds you a personal path, inside a community where our coaches are genuinely active — plus a monthly members-only session with Leah. It isn't open yet — we're taking the founding 50 first, at $79/month locked in instead of $149 after that. If you saved your founding spot on the results page, you're already on the list and we'll email you before anyone else hears about it.
